Compliance and security intelligence

Screening that holds up in front of a regulator, an auditor and an investment committee

Institutions in the UAE are not short of lists to check a name against. What is harder to obtain is a structured account of who sits behind a counterparty, where the exposure actually originates, and which source said so. DeepSearch Intelligence™ is an intelligence platform built for that work: it gathers information from official registers, public filings, open sources and lawful third-party providers, organises it into traceable findings, and hands it to your analysts with every source attached.

The platform supplies the intelligence. Your people make the decision, and the file shows how they reached it.

What compliance and security intelligence covers

Four questions sit behind almost every file a compliance officer opens: is this counterparty listed, is anyone connected to it politically exposed, who ultimately owns it, and what does the public record say about its conduct. DeepSearch Intelligence™ runs all four against the same entity graph, so a match found in one does not have to be re-established by hand in the others. Onboarding and periodic review draw on AML and KYC compliance screening, list exposure is handled through PEP and sanctions screening, and ownership questions resolve through ultimate beneficial owner screening across jurisdictions.

AML and KYC screening

Identity and entity verification at onboarding, then again at periodic review, with the evidence of each check retained rather than re-run from memory.

Sanctions, watchlist and PEP exposure

International sanctions regimes, watchlists and politically exposed person datasets, with the connection path shown so an analyst can judge whether a hit is genuine.

Multi-layer UBO reconstruction

Ownership traced layer by layer, including holdings that sit behind offshore vehicles and nominee arrangements, until a natural person or an unresolvable gap is reached.

Media intelligence, OSINT and SOCMINT

Adverse media, press archives and publicly available online sources, gathered lawfully and dated, so reputational findings can be placed on a timeline.

How an intelligence assessment is produced

The workflow is deliberately not a single button. Each stage leaves a record, which is what allows the file to be defended long after the transaction closes.

1

Define the scope

The subject, the jurisdictions in play and the depth required. Four report levels let you match effort to the exposure rather than running everything at maximum.

2

Collect from lawful sources

Official registers, public filings, open sources and licensed third-party providers are queried across the entity graph, with each item timestamped at capture.

3

Analyst review

Specialists examine the findings, discount coincidental name matches and set out the risk indicators that a reviewer needs to weigh. No verdict is issued by the software.

4

Traceable delivery

Reports are delivered online in real time with sources attached and a full audit trail, ready to be attached to your own decision record.

Provenance

Where the information comes from

Every finding is attributable. If a source cannot be named and dated, it does not belong in a compliance file, and it does not appear in ours.

  • Official government and corporate registers
  • Public company filings and regulatory disclosures
  • Publicly available court and litigation records
  • International sanctions regimes and watchlists
  • Politically exposed person datasets
  • Adverse media and press archives
  • Open-source intelligence, OSINT
  • Publicly accessible social media sources, SOCMINT
  • Licensed third-party data providers
  • Corporate shareholding and directorship records
  • Cross-border ownership links across the entity graph
  • Client-supplied documentation, where you provide it

Local context

What UAE regulation expects of your file

A UAE compliance function answers to more than one authority at once. Onshore institutions work to Central Bank of the UAE requirements and file through the Financial Intelligence Unit; firms in the DIFC answer to the DFSA, those in Abu Dhabi Global Market to its own regulator, and designated non-financial businesses and professions carry obligations of their own. Above all of it sit the FATF recommendations that shaped the current UAE framework.

What these regimes have in common is a demand for reconstruction. It is rarely enough to say a check was performed. You are expected to show what was examined, when, against which source, and why the conclusion was reasonable at the time. DeepSearch Intelligence™ is designed to support traceable compliance and intelligence workflows informed by applicable FATF principles and relevant UAE regulatory requirements and guidance. Personal-data handling is governed according to the applicable data-protection framework for the relevant processing activity and jurisdiction.

Beyond list matching

× Basic screening alone
  • A name matches a list and nobody can explain the connection.
  • Ownership analysis stops at the first corporate shareholder.
  • False positives are cleared in a spreadsheet that leaves no record.
  • Coverage is strongest in one region and thin everywhere else.
  • The file cannot be reconstructed when an auditor asks months later.
✓ With DeepSearch Intelligence™
  • Every finding carries its source and the date it was captured.
  • Ownership is rebuilt layer by layer across jurisdictions.
  • Analysts record what was reviewed and what was discharged, with reasons.
  • Global coverage is included natively, not sold as a regional add-on.
  • The audit trail travels with the report, so the file explains itself.

Who uses it, and for what

The platform is used wherever a counterparty decision carries regulatory or reputational consequence. Procurement and supply chain teams apply the same entity graph to third party and vendor risk, and law firms use it for asset tracing and litigation intelligence when a matter turns on who controls what.

Banks and financial institutions

Customer onboarding, periodic review, correspondent relationships and UBO detection, with screening evidence retained for supervisory review.

Funds, private equity and family offices

Multi-jurisdictional due diligence and target mapping ahead of a transaction, including the ownership layers a data room rarely discloses.

Corporate and industrial groups

Supplier and distributor screening, joint venture partner checks and executive background intelligence across markets where registry quality varies.

Platform security

Security on our side of the platform

1

Role-based access control

Permissions follow the function. An onboarding officer, a senior reviewer and an internal auditor each see what their role requires, no more.

2

Full audit trail

Searches, retrievals and report generation are logged, so your own supervisory function can review how the platform was used and by whom.

3

Data protection by design

Personal-data handling is designed around principles of lawful processing, purpose limitation, data minimisation, traceability and appropriate access control, taking into account the applicable data-protection framework for the relevant jurisdiction and processing activity.

4

Controlled integration

API access carries findings into your own case management or proprietary CRM, so intelligence reaches the workflow without copies drifting into inboxes.

Trust statement

DeepSearch Responsible Intelligence Principles

These principles govern how the platform is built and how its output should be read. They are published because a buyer in this category deserves to know the limits before signing, not after.

  1. Our data comes from public and trusted sources. Official registers, public records and filings, open-source intelligence and licensed third-party providers. We do not claim access to confidential or restricted government systems, because we do not have it.
  2. The platform supports human decision-making. It assembles, structures and presents intelligence for review by qualified people. It is a support tool for your compliance, risk and legal functions.
  3. We do not make automated decisions. No automated approval, rejection or classification of a counterparty is produced. The platform surfaces risk indicators and intelligence findings; a person weighs them.
  4. We do not provide legal advice. What we deliver is compliance intelligence, regulatory intelligence and legal intelligence: information to inform your advisers, not a substitute for them.
  5. We do not issue legally binding assessments. Our reports are informational. They carry no certified, judicial or evidential status, and responsibility for the compliance decision remains with your institution.

Frequently asked questions

What is compliance and security intelligence, and how is it different from a screening database?

A screening database answers one question: does this name appear on a list. Compliance and security intelligence answers the questions that follow. Who is connected to this entity, through which shareholding, in which jurisdiction, according to which source, and as at what date. DeepSearch Intelligence™ queries official registers, public sources and licensed providers across more than 400 million entities and 1.5 billion corporate links, then structures what it finds into a report your analysts can review, challenge and defend later.

Does DeepSearch Intelligence™ assign a risk score to a company or a person?

No. The platform does not produce a score, a rating or an automated classification of any subject. It presents risk indicators and intelligence findings with their sources attached, and specialists review them before delivery. The assessment of what those indicators mean for your risk appetite belongs to your compliance function, which is also where regulatory responsibility sits.

Which UAE frameworks is the platform aligned with?

DeepSearch Intelligence™ is aligned with the FATF recommendations and with Central Bank of the UAE, DFSA and ADGM frameworks, so the output fits the record-keeping and customer due diligence expectations that onshore institutions, DIFC firms and ADGM entities work to. Personal data handling follows GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection. Filing obligations to the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit remain yours; our role is to give you a defensible file to reason from.

Where does the underlying information actually come from?

Official government and corporate registers, public company filings, publicly available court records, sanctions and watchlist sources, politically exposed person datasets, adverse media, open-source intelligence and publicly accessible social media, plus licensed third-party data providers. Nothing is drawn from confidential or restricted systems. Each finding is dated and attributable, which is what makes it usable in a compliance file.

Can it trace beneficial ownership through offshore structures?

Multi-layer UBO reconstruction is one of the platform's core functions. Where a shareholder is itself a corporate vehicle, the chain continues through the available registry and filing data across jurisdictions until a natural person is identified or the trail reaches a point the public record cannot resolve. Where the trail stops, the report says so and shows where, which is more useful to a reviewer than an unexplained gap.

Is the output legal advice, or evidence we can rely on in proceedings?

Neither. DeepSearch Intelligence™ is not a law firm and its reports carry no certified or judicial status. What you receive is compliance, regulatory and legal intelligence: structured, sourced information that supports your own advisers, investigators and decision-makers. Many clients use it as the research layer feeding work that their counsel then takes forward.

How does it fit into systems we already run?

Reports are delivered online in real time and can be pulled into your existing case management or proprietary CRM through the API. Twelve vertical modules can be activated according to what your team actually screens for, alerts and monitoring are configurable, and role-based access with a full audit trail means usage stays reviewable by your own second line.

See it run against a name you already know

The most direct way to judge an intelligence platform is to point it at a counterparty you have already researched, and compare what comes back. Our specialists in Dubai will walk your team through it.
